The Jupiter-Uranus Conjunction in Taurus Guide
*Before we dive into this tremendous transit, I want to invite you to a live Zoom call, where my good friend, Reiki Master, Yoga teacher, and my spiritual mentor, Christine, and I, will be exploring how to integrate the energies of Jupiter and Uranus. One lucky winner will also have their chart read. If you’re interested, then please register by clicking this link!
The biggest transit of the year is happening this month! Although, the exact meeting of Jupiter and Uranus is happening on Apr 20, 2024, we could say the combination of their energies could be felt since the end of last Summer. Nonetheless, the planet known as the King of the Gods (Jupiter) is quickly approaching the planet known as the Lord of Earthquakes and Lightning Bolts (Uranus), and their energies are intensifying. The meeting of these two planets happens every 14 years, so not the rarest, but also, not so common. We have to wait over a decade each time to experience the fusion of optimistic and innovative energies Jupiter and Uranus evoke.
Everyone is experiencing this conjunction, but some are going to feel it more intensely than others. If you have any planet or placements, such as the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or Midheaven, or the nodes, for example, around 21 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius, then you’ll be for sure heeding the call of what these two planets are inviting us to do. However, if you don’t have any planets or placements around those degrees of fixed signs, don’t worry, transiting Jupiter and Uranus will be happening in a specific house within your chart, so you can still harness this energy. In this blog, I’ll be exploring what these two planets mean individually, what the invitation is when they meet together, how Taurus fits into all of this, and finally, how to harness their energy depending on what house they’ll be in (AKA horoscope reading).
The King of the Gods
If our solar system formed a little bit differently, then we would’ve had two stars in our solar system. Jupiter, by far the biggest planet in our solar system, could’ve been our second star. It’s no surprise why our ancestors named Jupiter the King of the Gods. Another clue we get from Jupiter’s nickname is that when it touches a sensitive point in one’s chart, it usually brings an optimistic, expansive, and “lucky” time. Now, although those three themes I just named are true about Jupiterean times, they don’t paint the full picture. Sometimes we don’t feel lucky and sometimes we question our astrologers on their predictions because Jupiter just came and went like nothing had happened. Let’s explore what happens when the Santa Claus of our solar system comes down our chimneys.
If you grew up celebrating Christmas, what was the lie we were all told as children? If you’re a good boy or girl, then on the 25th of December, Santa Claus is going to come and bring you the toys you’ve always wanted. Sometimes those gifts brought us joy, but other times, we were so excited to open up the the gift with the shiny plastic, only to forget about it later and start throwing tantrums. Just like Santa Claus, Jupiter can bring us the shiny thing we “thought” we wanted, only to feel like we were fooled by the universe.
All that glitters is not gold.
In real life, Jupiter is real. He is the Santa Claus that will bring you what you ask for, but you better have written the thing you truly wanted on your wish list, or else you’re going to get disappointed. This is why it’s important to get clear as to what you really want.
Imagine a kid right out of college. Jack has a bachelor’s degree in English because he loves reading and writing literature, but he doesn’t know what to do now. All his friends got jobs that pay them well, but our gentleman in the story can’t do much with his degree even though he’s a sharp, intelligent man. He has enough money to take a year off and get clear as to what his next move is going to be. Jupiter is crossing his Gemini ascendant, so the world is really his oyster; whatever he wants, he’s going to receive, but just because the universe provides Jack with his wishes, doesn’t guarantee happiness.
Our protagonist has had a story percolating in his psyche for years that he has wanted to write but has been so busy with school that he hasn’t had the energy to focus on his beloved project. Jack thinks to himself, “I can take some time to focus on this story or I can go to law school because then for sure I know I’ll be able to make a lot of money, even more so than my friends.” Going to law school will give him a high probability that he will make money, but it won’t guarantee his happiness. Writing that book that has been cooking within him will give him a high probability of happiness, but won’t guarantee him making a lot of money. This is quite the pickle to find oneself in and these are the kinds of stakes one can face during Jupiter times, especially if it’s crossing over your rising sign.
I’m not trying to make going to law school a path of disappointment. We need lawyers in this world, especially congruent ones! Advocating for the defenseless in the courtroom will fulfill the lives of many people. The point I’m trying to make is that if Jack decides to go to law school solely for the reason of making money and appearance, then he’ll be going after fool’s gold—a flashy, but ultimately unfulfilling investment.
Attachment to the Present
Another pitfall during Jupiter times is maintaining the status quo.
Let’s say you have a high-paying job and are living in San Francisco. We all know how ridiculous the prices are to live in The Bay Area. Even though you’re making bank, you’re paying too much for your money. In other words, after all the bills are paid you’re barely making ends meet.
So here comes Jupiter entering your fourth house (the house of home, family, and internal world), which simultaneously opposes your tenth house (which is all about your career). You go back home for the holidays and your uncle tells you that there is a job opening in his company in Spain. It pays significantly less than what you’re accustomed to, but your uncle assures you that the cost of living is laughable to what you’re currently living in. If you allow Jupiter to get the best of you, then you can stay attached to how things are. You could say to your uncle, “I don’t know. Things are good right now. I don’t want to lose the apartment I took a year to get.” You could be missing out on an expansive future, but may have to humble yourself to recognize the amazing opportunity.
When the Santa Claus of our solar system comes into your reality, can you recognize the new gift that’s being presented to you or are you going to be arrogant and think you’re too good for this new opportunity?
Victory
As astrologers, all we can do is interpret the symbols and best paint the picture of what the options our client has. If Jupiter is touching a sensitive point in your chart, then you need a victory. You need to get clear on what it is that you truly desire. A brighter future awaits you, but can you first recognize the opportunity being presented and then take action on it? Jupiter times call for rolling the dice. You have to take the risk of going after what you believe in. You have to dare to hope for a better tomorrow. You have to bet on yourself. Instead of waiting for dumb luck to hit you, you have to create your own luck.
Jupiter’s 4 Possible Outcomes
Four possible outcomes can arise during Jupiter times. Let’s explore them so you’re well-equipped on how to harness the faith-expansive energy being presented to you.
1. The first one is the famous lucky response that Jupiter is known for. You actually get the thing that you want. You were clear on your desire, you weren’t pompous about the opportunity, and you took action so you could receive your “gold.” In this response, you made the tough decision to leave your high-paying job in San Francisco to go work with your uncle in Spain. Even though it was frightening to leave a prestigious job, you felt that you would be much happier living in a culture that suited your current need for ease and grace. After settling into your new position, you realized that, although you were making less than you were in your previous job, you ended up with more money for yourself because of how much affordable your current living situation is. Jupiter the Santa Claus rewarded you with a better future because you believed in yourself and you took the necessary action.
2. The second one is mistaking glitter for gold. Instead of knowing what’s actually good for you, you took the bait on the shiny object only to find yourself feeling ungrateful for the disappointment in your prize. This is Jack allowing the comparison of his buddies to get to his ego and decide he’s going to make a lot of money by becoming a lawyer. Because this was a Jupiter time for him, he was able to get into law school easily and went through the program with flying colors. But no matter how much money he made, it never filled his cup. Jack is phenomenal with words, which is why he flourished as a lawyer, but what he really wanted to do was to tell stories through his writing. During Jupiter times, remember this quote by President Theodore Roosevelt, “Comparison is the thief of joy.” Instead of looking at what others are doing, get clear of what is going to make you truly happy.
3. The third response with Jupiter is nothing happens—or you think nothing happened. You think astrology is a scam because I said that during Jupiter times you can get lucky, but everything is the same as usual. During Jupiter times, you have to keep your eyes open for the opportunities being presented to you. Whether it’s a friend telling you that a publishing company is looking for a juicy story or if it’s the uncle telling you about the new opening in his company back in Spain, you could let an amazing opportunity slip through your fingertips because you underestimated your potential.
4. The last possible outcome is that you lose something. Jupiter rules two signs: Sagittarius and Pisces. Both Sagittarius and Pisces are about feeling connected to life. Where they differ is how they go about it. With Sagittarius, it’s about exploring all that life has to offer, but with Pisces, we release and surrender. Sometimes we need to let go of things to create the time and space to go within so we can remember who we truly are: consciousness having a human experience.
During a Jupiter transit, sometimes we can experience loss. This is the Pisces side of Jupiter. In the moment, you might feel unlucky. You might feel like it’s the worst day of your life. But most of us had experiences where we’ve said, “Losing _______ was the best thing that ever happened to me.” Losing a job might suck, but having so gave you the time to sit alone and contemplate what you really want to do and gave you the energy to switch paths.
In summary, during Jupiter times, know what’s good for you, recognize the opportunity knocking at your doorstep, and take action to create a better, brighter future.
The Lord of Earthquakes and Lightning Bolts
With a name like that, we can begin to feel into the themes of Uranus. What do earthquakes and lightning bolts have in common? They happen “unexpectedly.” Therefore, during Uranian times, we can expect the unexpected. Okay, thanks a lot Andre. That was super helpful. While it is true that there is a wildcard energy to our reality when Uranus is touching a sensitive point in our charts, what this planet is all about is helping us become a more authentic version of ourselves.
No matter where you were born, you were conditioned to think, talk, and behave in certain ways. Whether it’s your family, peers, culture, or society, a great percentage of who you are has been programmed by your environment. Uranus represents the other percentage that makes you unique. Uranus is the part of you that would have remained the same whether you were born in China or France.
This is not a knock on the values that you stand for. Most cultural teachings are beneficial to maintaining a courteous and harmonious society, such as saying please and thank you. But your conditioning can also limit you from going after what you want and becoming the person you’ve always wanted to be. Image an artist born into a family of accountants. Or vice versa. Someone born with a stronger left-brain emphasis would much rather deal with numbers and structure than with there being no rules and dealing with abstractions. Regardless of what family you were born into, when the planet Uranus comes knocking on your door, it’s time to transcend some programming and become more of who you truly are.
Freedom
During Uranian times, your soul is trying to liberate itself from the shackles of your ego. Having a healthy ego is critical in helping you cultivate a meaningful life. Without an ego, you wouldn’t have the drive to get out of bed and go do the things that you value in this world. But the ego does suppress the free-spirited, rebel, unorthodox desires your soul craves. It does so to help you stay grounded and focused on achieving your aims, but when the Lord of Earthquakes and Lightning Bolts comes around, it’s going to loosen the grip the ego has on keeping your soul’s desires locked in your unconscious. In other words, your soul is going to show you a different, more fulfilling path available to you, but the question is, are you going to take the step forward or remain the same?
Imagine a woman that has been married for ten years, but is no longer happy because the husband lacks ambition and just lives for staying in, watching TV, and drinking beers. When they first met, there was actual passion and energy for being together. They would eat out often, travel, and go do fun activities together, but after the honeymoon phase ended, he got too comfortable and lost his zest for life. She, on the other hand, was still an outgoing person, dining and dancing with friends, going hiking, and learning new hobbies. After a decade, the couple drifted apart.
For a handful of years, she would encourage him to join her on her many escapades but he would make up excuses like, “I’m too tired honey. After work, I just want to relax. Plus, we have to save for a rainy day.” The marriage had gotten dull, so she asked him if they could see a couple’s therapist to work on their relationship, but he didn’t believe in seeing shrinks because their relationship was fine. He would say, “We have great jobs, a big house, and brand-new cars. We got it made honey.” She put up with her husband because she loved him and remembered the early stages of their relationship and how happy they were. Her best friend lovingly told her, “Why not get a divorce?” Separating from her husband was not in the picture for her at all because she thought to herself, “We got married at a church. What would our family say? I’m in my 50s, I don’t want to die alone and he also pays for most of the bills. It’ll be too embarrassing. Plus, it’s just practical to stay.” But then one morning, lightning struck–she got an epiphany.
A lightbulb finally turned on in her consciousness that she deserved better, that she only had so much time left, that she wanted to experience it with someone else who had the same enthusiasm for being alive, and if she couldn’t find that person, she would much rather do it alone. Our protagonist’s ego no longer had control over her soul’s true desires. In astrological terms, transiting Uranus was opposing her Ascendant and entering her 7th house of marriage.
During Uranian times, you’re going to get the knowledge of who you are, of what you truly desire, and the possibilities available to you to go down the road less traveled. Your true self is going to speak to you, free from all the years of social programming. And once you tasted the sweet nectar of freedom, there’s no going back. You’re either going to have a…
Breakdown or Breakthrough
Feelings of alienation, dissociation, and detachment. Or feelings of freedom, happiness, and authenticity. From the menu of your existential crisis, what feelings would you like to dine on for the rest of your life? Since your unconscious finally has been able to get a clear line of communication with you, now it’s time to decide if you’re going to honor its divine instructions or if you’re going to remain the same.
The shadow side of a Uranian time is allowing stubbornness, practicality, and embarrassment to deter you from living the different, but fresher and enriching life that is available to you now. Allowing these Uranian shadow themes to get the best of you is a one-way ticket to breaking down. Since you now know what your future can look like, if you stay in the same circumstances you’re currently in, then you’re going to feel like a ghost just going through the motions of life. From the outside, everything looks fine, but no one truly knows you. You can have people around you, but you’ll feel alienated because you’re living a lie. So you start to emotionally detach yourself from reality just to go through the motions. You broke down.
Now the flip side of a Uranus transit is that you took the risk of listening to that calling deep within your heart so you can live a life where you feel free and is authentic and meaningful to you. Taking this path means that you might be perceived as being different or weird because it goes counter to what your tribe deems normal. Taking this path means you might have to think outside the box. Taking this path means you might have to take the road less traveled. But in honoring one’s true self, magical things can arise.
Just like earthquakes and lightning bolts strike us out of nowhere, amazing and unexpected doors can open up for us if we make a stand for our soul’s calling. Pathways and opportunities that we would never have imagined can come our way once we start making moves on the divine instructions we have received. This, my friends, is what I meant by “expect the unexpected.” So if Uranus comes to pay you a visit, “Do you want to have a breakdown or breakthrough?”
When The Planet of Better Unites with The Planet of Different
So what happens when Jupiter and Uranus meet up in the sky?
If we respond positively, then:
We can take action to create a better, more meaningful life.
We can solve old problems in new ways.
We can have expansive breakthroughs.
We can become a more original, genuine version of ourselves.
Our sense of faith in life can be expanded or restored.
If we respond negatively, then:
We can get stuck in our old ways by allowing arrogance and stubbornness to get in the way of evolving.
We can be too addicted to our habitual patterns to want to change.
We can be too embarrassed to go after a better life.
We can break down and miss an opportunity for a better life.
By combining the optimistic and lucky qualities of Jupiter with the innovative and creative qualities of Uranus, we can get radical and faith-expanding breakthroughs in our lives. The Santa Claus of the solar system can bring you a gift, but did you get clear enough to know that it’s truly the thing that’s going to make you happy? The Lord of Earthquakes and Lightning Bolts can open unexpected doors for you, but only if you’re willing to break through old habits and some social conditioning that has kept you in an outdated model of reality.
Bullseye
So far, we’ve discussed what the planets Jupiter and Uranus mean individually and collectively. But we’re missing one more piece to the puzzle–the sign of the Bull.
Taurus’ evolutionary goal is serenity. In other words, the Bull just wants to relax and enjoy his peace of mind. But Jupiter and Uranus times aren’t that peaceful though. With Jupiter, if you want a better future, you have to take action and that means getting uncomfortable or leaving a place where you think is already good. With Uranus, if you want a meaningful outer life that reflects your new, upgraded inner life, you may have to be perceived as being different, take unconventional action, or even question authority.
So then, how do you make sense of Jupiter and Uranus meeting up in Taurus?
You trust your instincts. You simplify things. And you spend some quiet time alone; better yet, you do it out in nature to attune to your inner animal wisdom. Money is also associated with Taurus. But it’s not so you can go on shopping sprees. Having a flow of income pays to keep the lights on which is one less thing you have to worry about. Remember, Taurus isn’t a fan of stress. As you move through these times, listen to the messages of your body. Yes, you most likely have to get uncomfortable, but on the other side of that turbulence is a peaceful, better, and fulfilling future.

Your Jupiter-Uranus Conjunction Reading
Now that you know what house these two planets are joining up in, it’s time to get more specific. Go to the house where transiting Jupiter and Uranus are and then ask yourself these questions:
Where am I due for a breakthrough?
Where have I been underestimating myself?
Where am I striving for my freedom?
How can I think bigger and think differently?
Where in my life do I need to transcend familial, cultural, and societal programming?
In what arena of my life do I need to dream big and seize the opportunity for a better future?
Where can I simplify things and trust my instincts?
The 1st House - The House of Self
This house is all about your life direction
This arena of life is about what you’re actively and personally engaged in
E.g., career, relationships, home, school, major life decisions, etc.
Bet on yourself
Align your will and intention to create more freedom in your life
You can be a little selfish during this time as long as you’re not insensitive toward others
The 2nd House - The House of Worth
This area is all about getting the resources and accomplishing the goals that will enhance your level of self-confidence
Prove yourself to yourself
It’s about attaining real-world accomplishments
Take action on the things that you want
Actualizing the things that you need to sustain your survival
E.g., money, skills, resources, allies, etc.
Your net worth doesn’t equal your self-worth
But your self-worth can help you increase your net worth
The 3rd House - The House of Perception
This arena of life is all about helping you find your voice and cultivating an open mind
Having novel and fresh experiences helps you think the thoughts that will translate into you having something to say
In other words, explore the world!
You need new perceptions to enhance your perspective
You do so by following your curiosity, learning, going to school, taking workshops, traveling to familiar destinations, and having fresh conversations with people who agree and disagree with how you view reality
This can be a tremendously busy time for you
Lookout for the messages the universe is communicating to you through omens, synchronicities, and repeated messages
The 4th House - The House of Home
Just as the name suggests, this house is all about your home, but it also has to do with your family and internal world as well
It’s time to take stock of who you have become and what you have accomplished
The goal is to plant the seeds of your dreams, intentions, and aspirations, so they can flower in the next few years, but that can only happen on fertile ground
Part of this process involves cultivating some quiet, restful time to water those seeds
That may be a challenging invitation because life can become incredibly busy, but the higher ground is to ride the wave of spontaneity and find the pockets of stillness to release and go within
This may involve adjusting your responsibilities at home and with your family or may even be time to find a new home
But stay true to yourself when it comes to living the home life you want to or raising your family in your unique style
The 5th House - The House of Children
This arena of life is about cultivating a healthy relationship with your inner child
It’s time to do the things that bring you joy
So dance, sing, create art, go to festivals, spend money on yourself, etc.
Honor your inner child by doing the things that you’ve always wanted to do
This time is also about creating outward symbols of your inward state
In other words, create stuff!
Whether it’s art, a hobby, or a business idea
The point is to funnel your imagination into concrete manifestations
Learning to be vulnerable is key right now as well
This is because you’re due for a boost in your spirit by receiving applause, admiration, or recognition for your genuine performance, expression, or creations
Have a healthy relationship with fun
The 6th House - The House of Daily Rituals
This house is all about the daily rituals, responsibilities, and duties when it comes to work and health
You’re due for a breakthrough when it comes to work
Whether it’s aligning to a better job or enhancing your workflow
Is what you’re doing fulfilling?
If not, then it’s time to bet on yourself and find work that matters
You may not need a new job, but just may need a shift in your perspective about how you show up to work
Mentors, teachers, and others who are skilled at what you do or want to do may appear before you right now
The key is to be humble enough to recognize them and ask for guidance
How is your health right now?
You may be healthy as an ox, but in what ways can you optimize your health routines
This is a phenomenal time to create new routines to improve your health and overall well-being
The 7th House - The House of The Other
This area of the chart has to do with your 1-to-1 relationships
How can your relationships be better?
Your key relationships may be good, but they can always get better
Now is the time to do so
This may involve having a difficult conversation that leads to a breakthrough in the relationship
Is your intimate circle respecting the new and improved individual you’re evolving into?
Whether it’s your lover, BFF, creative, or business partner, it’s time for both parties to evolve or go separate ways
Getting professional help to counsel the relationship would be greatly beneficial during this time
The 8th House - The House of Sex, Death, and The Occult
With a name like that, you may want to turn the other way
But if you’re strong enough–and you are–this is a tremendous time to heal wounds, feel your feelings, and overcome your fears
This house is all about the three universal instincts of humanity:
Instinctual desire to bond with another soul
So it may be time to get emotionally naked with your partner
In other words, it’s time for honesty and transparency
Instinctual knowing we’re all going to die
Allow death to serve as your counselor
In other words, themes around death may arise for you right now
The point is to stop wasting time and focus on what really matters in this life
And instinctual fascination with life after death
Taboo or occult experiences may arise for you during this time
Have the courage to allow them to guide you
If you’re willing to make the unconscious conscious (psychological work), then the reward is the power and tenacity to focus on going after the things you truly desire and awaken a new zest for life
The 9th House - The House of Philosophy
This area of the chart has to do with your model of reality
Your philosophy of life should be updated whenever you evolve, and right now is one of those times
So it’s time to break up your regular patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behavior
You do this by traveling, learning, and having conversations with people who are different than you
You then sit on a mountaintop contemplating your experiences and insights
You connect the dots of life to restore your faith in life
By exposing yourself to exotic cultures or alien ways of thinking, your worldly perspective gets enhanced
So explore the world!
The shadow of this transit is that you remain rigid and dogmatic about your upbringing and what you’ve been taught is how things are done
Your enthusiasm for life then begins to dissipate
The 10th House - The House of Mission
This house is about your career and public image
Although work-related opportunities may arise, the broader symbolism is about elevating your public reputation
Your public image must be in harmony with your integrity
Do you feel like what you’re doing has meaning?
Do you feel like what you’re doing is mission-oriented?
If so, how can it be enhanced?
Do you need more money to make a greater impact?
Do you need a bigger platform to spread your message?
If not, what must be done?
Do you need to pivot to a more meaningful career?
Do you need to take some training to get a more aligned position?
The 11th House - The House of Goals
This arena of life has to do with getting clear about what your goals are and what makes you happy
You then come up with a strategy and set your priorities
Once you have the clarity and strategy, you then align yourself with the network of people who are traveling a similar path
It’s easier to get to your destination by finding your tribe
How have you been setting too little in your circle of friends?
Update your goals, maybe even upgrade the people you surround yourself with
Dream big, dream different
The 12th House - The House of Consciousness
Just as the name says, this house has to do with connecting with consciousness
What does that mean?
This means you need to invest quiet, alone time separating your consciousness from your personality
In one word, meditate
But meditating can look like a myriad of ways:
Sitting crossed-legged, staring into a fire, surfing, running, chanting, dancing, writing, art, etc.
Through the laws of synchronicity, opportunities will arise for you to go within
Sometimes, not all the time, you may experience a loss
The whole point of the twelfth house is to realize that we are consciousness having a human body experience
If we have worldly attachments, then sometimes the universe challenges us by losing those things
I’m not here to make the loss of those things trivial or easy, but when we are faced with loss, we can have a sudden realization about what truly matters in this life and our faith in life can be enhanced
It’s about surrendering to what’s happening
It’s about creating the space where the universe can communicate with you and provide with you a vision because soon enough, your life is going to get a whole better (once Jupiter moves forward and transits over your Ascendant)
In Conclusion
Well, there you have it folks. Thank you for reading this far. I hope this guide was of service to you in navigating the union of The King of The Gods with The Lord of Earthquakes and Lightning Bolts. See this blog as the map of how to navigate the next few months. But just because you now know where to go, doesn’t mean you can sit back and do nothing. You still have to take action and pay attention to what’s happening in your reality. Life out there is the territory you must traverse.
Until next time!
Journey well,
Andre
